New skimmer any thoughts?

    I think your on 110 for wall sockets and minor ring mains
    and 220 for major ring mains - big appliances

    I only know this because I deal with lighting factories who supply US and Europe
    and of thats the case the factory always has either seperate rings in the showroom

    or they have transformers in order they can step up or down the power required to light the products for repsective customers

    This is correct!

    As I said, the plug adapters only work for US plugs going into european outlets. And even then it only works for some things. There is no adapter to correctly work a european appliance in a US outlet (you cant magically just create the volts). There may be some way to rig it, but it would be more work and more expensive than just buying a decent skimmer in the first place ;)

    220-240V, no problem. Just splice it off the electric line to your clothes dryer or stove (assuming you have electric, not NG or LP). That skimmer won't pull any noticeable amps.

    I think it means you would then have to buy a new water pump ( as thats the bit that uses power) so cost would be this unit plus new pump, versus price for US compatible skimmer
