What is the avg. time it takes for a skimmer to stop spitting micro bubbles?

    It depends:
    1. Is it a new set-up? I which case you'll have to wait until enough dissolved organic matter has accumulated in the water to 'tighten-up' the foam production.

    2. Have you performed a recent (large) partial water change?

    3. Do you operate a venturi skimmer?

    Good luck!

Normally it takes 2-4 weeks for it to break in and operate normally. :)

it does take a long time. I like to run my new skimmers in a vinegar water solution over night to get some of the oils off. This speeds up the break in
