New skimmer is here, Octo lx1000s

There should be screws that you adjust to get it to sit properly. the tilt will cause problems.

 

Wow, those things are huge! The new one gives more of an impression of being bigger because it is bright color. It looks like it's really well made though!
So Reef Octopus didn't help you out with your malfunctioning unit after all?

 

they only gave me 4 screws when there's 6 holes, i plugged in the skimmer, filled it up with water its running but not doing anything :/

yea i say it only looks bigger because of the color and there's more in the tank then the bh800.

one of the options was to send the bh800 back and they would try to fix it, but with all of the problems ive had with it, it wasnt worth it and they gave me a great deal on other skimmers so i went ahead and got this one

 

Pinch the air line shut for a bit. I have to do this on mine (bh-1000) to get it to start sucking water in. Some times you might have to suck on the end of the air line too get the siphon started.

 

ok, i really hope i dont have to suck the air line, that would be gross lol

alright so i got it up and running, now i have an insaine amount of foam in the collection cup

 

yup see where is says to block airline with your hand. I only had to suck on it once, and even then I think if I waited a few secs it probably would have started.

 

Thats not a skimmer - It's a big red monster!

I gotta say, I do find the color very distracting

 

Thanks for shearing T. The red is a bit to prominent for my liking but it sure is a nice skimmer.
