I have the CPR Bak-Pak 2 skimmer now (which is a huge upgrade from that crap Prizm I had that just broke!! lol) and so far I am liking it. It is MUCH MUCH quieter than the Prizm and seems to be skimming just as good as the prizm ALREADY and its only been on the tank for 2 days!! I think it's gunna work great when it breaks in! Now, my question is about Micro Bubbles going into the display. I have this hanging on the display because I have no sump. The very first day I had almost NO micro bubbles coming from this skimmer, which was odd as I was expecting a bunch as it's brand new and I know that skimmers need to break in before that will subside. But now that it's into the 2nd day, it has now really started putting micro bubbles into the tank... is that normal for it to not shoot almost any micro bubbles then start shooting them out a couple days later? I'm just not 100% sure how this break in period works because every single skimmer I've ever had has always been a used already broke in skimmer! lol This is my first brand new skimmer. Thanks guys!

The bubbles will go away once the skimmer develops it's slime coat.

Holly CPR sells a bubble trap for the CPR bakpak2 which I do not recommend you get as it doesn't help much. I ordered it for my bakpak and it didn't help much. If you can hold on for a bit while the slime coat develops as FatBastad said you will have your problem resolved. In the meantime do you have half the outlet out of the water? This is what the manufacturer recommends. It helps but it won't eliminate them.

Ok, yea that's what I figured. I actually have that "blue Bale" that is used for the so called "biological filteration" in there right now to kind of subside the bubbles and it actually is working better than if I didn't have it in there. I think I'm going to remove that bale wehn it breaks in though. As of right now, the bubbles seem to be much less! My anemone and almost all my SPS are really ticked off about all the bubbles still though! Luckily the nem didn't decide to find a better spot, so I'm glad the bubbles are already starting to slow down a bunch.

Is it normal for a skimmer to have almost NO micro bubbles going into the tank then a few days later have a lot? I thought as teh skimmer broke in, the first few days have a lot of bubbles then there are less as it breaks in.
