New skimmer

    I just put my new skimmer on and it seems to be making way too many micro bubbles did i install it wrong or what. I have a coralife super skimmer

    where are the bubbles coming out of? is it in sump or HOB?

    Its a hang on back and the bubbles are coming out of the bubble protection diffuser

    aww sorry I missed that you just put it on opps. it is possible it may need to still break in. do you have a photo of it?

    no where is the air coming in @? should be on the pump creating bubbles in the skimmer body foaming up to the neck and creating a froth in the cup.

    I have the same skimmer. There is a break in period (mine took a couple of days), but also make sure that the tube going to the diffuser is not all the way down inside pressed against the foam pad. This will also cause the skimmer to suck in water too fast and overflow your cup. I set my bubbles to stop right before they reach the bottom of the cup for a dry skim. This way your cup wont fill up so fast. Other than that, its a great skimmer!!

    Also make sure that all your air hoses are secure. I have the 125 version.

    do you have a bio load in the tank?
    it looks to be as it is breaking in where is the air diffuser @ is it spitting water out at you? als thats alot of bubbles. in the display just above the lower read big screw there should be foam going up and down is that happening?
