Hello all. I got a couple of new SPS today. One is a green birdsnest to go along with my pink birdsnest. another is the purple sps seen in this picture. I cannot remember the name of it. Can anyone help me identify it?
    Thanks in advance.

Ah, could be Acropora gemmifera, hard to tell what the polyps look like, any chance of snagging a more close up photo?

    Absolutely not a Gemmiferra.

It is an acro, just not sure exactly which one. There are a lot of species that looks like it. Without a better picture, it would be extremely hard to narrow down. The difference is usually the shape, size, and orientation of the corralites.

I almost want to say it is a "deepwater species". I use that term loosely.

Yes, quite similar, just not sure if it is the exact same.
