Hi, i have in my 72 gal. tank a sick with ich powder blue, and a yellow tang that does not want to eat.

I just got to the petco store and got some new arrivals and i want to get.
A coral banded shrimp and a peppermint shrimp i think it is.
    A feather duster worm.
Some pair of crabs medium and large.
1 coral dont remember which one

What do you guys think about it. I heard that the shrimps are good to my tank and will eat allot of parasites. Also i dont think its to much bio load, instead it will help get rid of allot of things.

I also going to get the formula 2 flakes to see if this will help to the no eating thing.
    What do you guys think

It not too much bio load - but if your sick has illness you might want to wait, but if not your selection would be fine regardless of ich.

You want a cleaner shrimp that will pull the parasites off fish.

    Is your tank grounded?

Powder blues are great lookin fish but tend to get very ich very easy...!!! Look at Galic guard to soak some of your food in like the sea weed salad and or frozen foods befor feeding.THis will help build there emune system up to fight off the ich. Your Yellow tang should come to eat a lil more also with that.. And deffinatly a cleaner shrimp or cleaner wrasse or gobie... Oh one more thing check the temp of the tank..!!

Inverts such as shrimp and crabs take up almost no bioload at all. They probably take away more waste from the tank than they produce, IMO. So that looks fine.

What have you tried to fight the ich?

JMO here, but if there is a good LFS in your area that just deals with fish, you may want to go with them. Even if you have to drive. The chance of success is greatly improved....even with inverts. I was sold a dead turbo snail one time at a local....hmmmmm.....LFS that shall remained unnamed. I have been known to drive an hour out of my way to give the small LFS business. It is good for them and it is good for you in the long run.

Now.....on to the LFS issue. I have been known to drive an hour out of my way to go to a LFS that deals with just fish. My success rate is really high because of it. I have done both.....the Pet**** route and the true LFS route. The latter has given me the greatest success. And it is a win-win situation. The small businesses need the money and you are served by someone that specializes in your hobby. So consider it. Even if it is a drive and the prices are higher. In the end, you will save money, and more importantly, time.

Be careful with Petco, mine has no refunds on anything marine. Also they sell their livestock so fast, that the things are still stressed from moving. Good luck
