Hey everyone, about 3 months ago I made the decision to purchase a blue jaw trigger. I bought the fish, added him and he never ate. He slowly starved to death which was the saddest thing I have ever seen. I pondered over the idea for a while of getting another when I found this guy on my local forum. He was severely being picked on my another fish in the guys tank and the guy really needed him gone. I inquired about the little fish and the guy told me that the fish had lost some of his yellow due to the stress and assured me that he ate well and was very active. The guy wasn't lying. I witnessed the picking, and I also witnessed how much this fish actually ate. He was perfect. So I got the little fella home, acclimated him and within 10 minutes of being in the tank, he was eating flake food. He's absolutely beautiful.

and for the coral lovers, here are my other 2 new aquisitions. The first is an ORA Frogskin Acropora. This is the first month release of this coral and I'm proud to say that as far as I know, I'm one of the first people in oregon to grab one.

This is an ORA Miami Orchid. I am quickly becoming an ora freak.

Niiiice, digging the frogskin. I added a Bird of Paradise and it is competing with the ORA purple-rim green cap for most surprising growth. Still need to track down a red planet and purple plasma locally.

I have the red planet also and that is my favorite coral. The bird of paradise is sweet. They are pretty easy to burn tho so be careful with it. Don't need a ton of light to look pretty sweet

I just lost a naso tang taht just would eat, he starved too! I assume the blue jaw trigger is reef/coral safe? I like it a lot but I am not sure my damn damsel will leave it alone if I get one? Also I have a stupid question, what is the designation "ORA" mean? I have seem some awesome corals called ora's?

ORA stands for Oceans, Reefs and Aquariums. They are an extremely successful aquaculter facility. They have their own divers that go down and bring up certain frags from corals and then grow them out in their facility. I respect this company a whole lot because of what they do for reef conservation. Each Frag they get takes a few years before it's ready to frag and sell and they never sell the mother colony. They just keep fraggin it.

there are a few that are. bluejaw, sargassum, crosshatch are all reef safe. They are planktivores and won't mess with anything unless it's in the water column.

wait, I'll say reef safe with caution. There are a few rogue individuals and i'm sure if mine had the opportunity, it would take a small fish
