so i picked up a Eshopps 20 gallon Sump/Fuge today off craigslist.

i was going to build my own but as soon as i bumped into this deal i couldnt pass it up!

scored it for 60 bucks! its used and has a few scratchs but hey it is gonna be under my stand right?
here is a picture i snaped a few mins ago.

had a question though... whats the best way to seal up the hole on the side of the return area? install a bulkhead and cap it or just glue a piece of acrylic, i actually have a piece of acrylic layin around.

Congratulations. as for the hole I would use a bulkhead and a plug in case you ever decide to rearrange your setup in the future

i wish i could get that lucky and find a deal like that! i'm having trouble finding a 20g long to get my sump/fuge project started and I rather not pay $43 at the LFS for one brand new?!

yea, used is the way to go for a sump. cause it really doesnt matter cosmetically, just as long as it doesnt leak. unless you display your fuge for whatever reason.

thats not a bad deal, $43 for the tank, $18 for the acrylic for the baffles and you have the same deal he got with an extra 6 inches in length to boot. 8)

So $43 for a new 20g long isn't bad really? I was hoping to be able to find a used one for cheap but haven't had any luck w/ that so far and I know I wouldn't be saving a ton of money o a used tank but it doesn't have to look too nice since it isn't being displayed & the little extra cash I do save could go towards the skimmer =)

I see them on craigslist all the time for 20-30, I wouldn't pay any more than a dollar a gallon for a used tank, and realisticly the acrylic is alittle more expensive then that. Unless home depots are differant. It was 40 dollars for a sheet of 1/4 inch.
