yea, it seems like the sound is in the hose and down the into the sump ( water trickle)

it seems like there is some back pressure that gargles and creates to much air

the tube under the pump silenced it!

    thanks for the suggestion

Its becoming air-locked lfrom a lack of venting at the intake from the overflow box. Might try adding 2. Ells to form a U at the very base of the line in the sump and add a short nub of pipe to just above the sumps water level. Also you can increase the pipe size up a size at the base of the overflow box and do the ells that way the pipe will allow for a little expansion and easier flow. Also in the Pic you posted is the valve at the sump on the pump or the inlet to sump from overflow ? What size tubing is being used on the both of them ?

I agree that I should be using a bigger pipe thats why i wanted the thin wall to increase the volume

Its 1'' pipe on the inlet and 3/4'' on the returnn

that ball valve you see is on the return just past the pump

The pipe in the back is the inlet where I believe the noise is , its really hard to tell, sometimes im sure where its coming from and other times i cant really desypher where it is.

The guy who made it is suggesting that I buy a stand pipe or aqua silencer from him, he says that it was made specifically for his box and never has had a complaint. I've made three variations of the silencer and non seem to help the noise in the sump while all of them work to silence the tank noise.

    I guess I'll see

Is this pic what you ment by what i should try to make?? what should I increase the the size to??

Try the loop at the base I think that wuill do the trick for you .. That allows the air to escape and thats the Gloop you here every so often Like the sound of a Gas can gluping with the little vent closed up. Or a bottle gulping when inverted and draining Also it looks like you have a tube on a cap at the stand pipe in the overflow might want to get that above the waterline and tweak it a bit might want to open it wide open then close it until you get it dialed in.

    Hi ,

PVC pipe called schedule 20 is as thin as it gets, at your local hardware or Home Depot . I am not aware of any thinner wall pvc pipe.
What about a piece of flex tubing between the ridgid pipes?

I think he is getting a gulping sound from the locked air building up and bubbling out of the line in the sump below the waterline Not sure vibration is his issue. And like you the 1/6th in the I.D to be would not be a large enough difference to mess with the pipe schedule .
