I have a new 18g Sealife Systems berlin sump that i added to my tank last night. Did a flood test and everything is working great!

My old filter is an emperor 400 and is still running in the tank. When would you consider i'm OK to take out the old filter? 1 week 2 weeks?

Also I still don't have fish or a CUC yet, but was wondering if there will be a new cycle because of the sump addition. If not, I would like to add a CUC sometime this week.

If your new sump has bio balls, I would wait 3-4 weeks.

You could always put your filter inside your sump (assuming it's not an enclosed sump). Out of sight, out of mind.
