    No I dont have a sand sifting fish
    The sediment is from adding sand still left over

    I think montis just take a long time to acclimate to a new aquarium. They seem to hang in there with no growth for awhile as you wonder if it will make it or not and then they suddenly take off with good growth and coloration. I would put it halfway up in your tank with 4 T5 HO bulbs and in an area with good flow.

    Second getting test kits, low CA or alk and real high nitrate and phos will kill corals

    I have a feeling it's going to be an alk thing but I don't want to tell you to dose anything unless you test it first. With this being said, encrusting montis are generally pretty hardy. I would leave it alone. Maybe move it about half way up the rockwork, in some good flow. Get a test kit asap or take your water to the lfs to get it tested.

    In my experience, monti's tend to be some of the first corals to decline wen your alk is out of whack. Most local shops will test your water.
