I would put the crabs back in the tank - they'll have a better shot in there. You may want to invest in a light that spans the length of your tank as well. Additional live rock as well.

If there just sitting in a bucket without any airstone or PH I'd put them back in the tank

Do you plan on having a reef tank or only fish?

You need a source of ammonia to start the cycle.

    Small damsel fish or
Dead frozen shrimp.. put it in and let it rot. or
Household ammonia... not recommended but possible or
    Urine ...same

Just get a shrimp throw it in and watch the cycle on your test kits. If you use a damsel put it in before you start the cycle... putting creatures in mid cycle will be very stressful and most likely deadly.

so i was wondering if the rock you had was live rock? it just looked pretty bleached to me. If you want an idea on how much live rock to have, try looking at some of the tank pics on the site.

    P.S......dont trust PETCO

Thanks all!! I was told they where live rocks and would come back after a while since they where out of water a while. I plan to add two cheap damsel fish tomorrow.
