So, I got a refractometer because the hydrometer wasn't providing consistent results... now I've heard about readings that are "off" around the true salinity when calibrated with freshwater. I don't have the 53 mS calibration fluid. What numbers should I look for tonight to hit 1.025 with the freshwater calibration?

I just picked up a Refractometer yesterday and I noticed I did have to calibrate it, it was reading +.05 with the calibration fluid that came with it. Before I calibrated it I took a reading with my R0/DI water and it read +.05, same as the calibration fluid.

I don't have an issue calibrating it to the calibration fluid... what I heard was that it won't read correctly at 1.025 if you calibrate with freshwater (likely more like 1.029 or 1.021 (I can't remember which way it errors))
