I'm not sure about a fan mod.. it seems to not run that hot.. It was weird plugging it in, and not hearing a fan.. almost considered the fan noise therapeutic..lol, but I'm sure my fish like it a lot more. I was surprised at how bright this fixture was when I hooked it up, and how dim my PC was. Seemed almost too bright, but I also had 6700k/10k and 460/420 bulbs in it. Now I have the 10k and 460k. I think colors popped just as much without the 420 on this new fixture.. All my corals are at the bottom of the tank right now. I'll take a pic next week, with a side by side comparison.

Yeah they are nice at Saltwater Paradise I love those tabletop tanks. I hope it's not their water, but I can't take a chance. It was nice to just pick up water at the store, for such a small tank.. but oh well. Got my tap filter yesterday and my lights.. acclimating the coral now. My zoas opened instantly, and their colors after a few hours have intensified a little.

Reef Creations, sweet I will check them out.. I think I have a coupon for them. My girl found it in a mailer.. I might go there tue. Marine Depot ships bulbs for free, but I hate waiting, and they could get damaged... plus you have to order 4. I was thinking of switching out two of the stock bulbs for UVLs for now.. not sure. 10k for a UVL 12k, and a 460nm for a 42o, or a Giesmann Aquablue. What you think?

Free frags.. I'm game! I have to get a protein skimmer before SPS or LPS.. lookin at an Octopus or a Aqua C.. haven't decided yet.

I live near French and Transit. Good to know your local!

Awesome! 10 minutes from my house! I want some bulbs! I have a 5$ off coupon! Think it'd be alright to just get 2 UVL bulbs and use the current 10k and 460nm with them?

I have no idea what the color would look like. The UVL bulbs have about the highest PAR on the market

i also only got 2 when i switched over lol, but i liked the new bulbs so much i went back like 2 days later for the other 2.

i would go with one actinic white, and one super actinic for now and then when you get the other 2 get another actinic white/ super actinic.IMO i really would not go lower in k than these.( i have my reasoning for this.lol)
all the corals in my tank has been under this color setup for 8+ months except the sps, so them color are mine! i can show you pics of them duncans when i got them under hamilton halide 25o or 400 not sure , but the difference is insane.

ill look for them now, i should have posted this a while back.
