I have a 55G reef tank with a few zoa racks, a crocea clam and an anemone. Any thoughts?

My hood is a coralife sundial with the original bulbs in the and they are about 1 yr and 2 months old. Recently my zoas are looking really rough and I have had a huge cyano outbreak. Could this be from the bulbs getting old and the spectrum changing?

    Thanks again

Yeah, you should probably change your bulbs. It will help out a lot.

indeed it could be, probably not the only factor tho. u gotta have some phos nitrate issues usually at least. u know those bulbs are due to be replaced.

the fixture you have listed is it 2x54 or 4x54, if its 2x54 i would suggest getting a 4x54 fixture, 6x54 if you want more demanding corals, nems, clams, etc

Well I did have some nitrate issues for the first time ever. My phosphate reactor pump quick and it was just a mess. I have done a water change about 3 days ago and we will see if it makes a difference. My nitrate level was I believe around 20. The hood I have is the 4 x 54 with the moon lights. I am still running the stock bulbs. My phosphate reactor will be back up and running tomorrow. The weird thing is my tank was looking really great until I added the anemone. Not sure if it is placement and if it is disrupting flow (good possibility) or what else may have changed. My routine is still the same as it has been so hopefully new lights will help my softies and now I need to figure out my cyano problem.

    Thanks
