Hi i just got a new lighting fixture a Tek Light from sunlight supply, is a 48" 6x54W Tek Light T5 High-Output, and i included the bulbs:

    3 54W Blue Plus T5 HO Fluorescent

    1 75/25 14000k aquablue t5

    1# 54W 6500K Daylight T5 HO Fluorescent
    # by General Electric

    1 54W 12000K Aquablue Special T5 HO Fluorescent

Can you review this lamp and also i need help to rearrange some of my corals because i was told i was going to need to do so because its t much light for some of them.

Im attaching a picture of my current distribution, the only ones i think they are going to need moving are the ones on top but can you help me decide i have on top a leather coral that i think is for sure, and i also have some LPS a hammer coral a torch coral a frog spawn. I have in the middle some star polyps and as of for now i think those are the only ones that got me worried.

Also how can i know if for some other corals is to much light and need moving?

My crummy computer will not let me access your pic, it just keeps loading and loading...
But I will give you a few tricks... You can a. move the corals down, or b. limit the photoperiod or c. do both.

What type of light did you have prior.

You have a good mix of lamps there, you will be able to get good growth out of pretty much all corals.
Softies can handle ALOT OF LIGHT, many species can handle FAR more than any SPS, so I would not be too concerned about them. My LPS didn't really mind the switch but I placed mine almost on the sand bed of a 24" deep tank....
One issue with an upgrade in lights is now you need to upgrade you water quality. Many people upgrade lights only to have a serious algae bloom because of the nutrient levels. Make sure everything is where it should be as far as your parameters go.

I would cut the photoperiod down by a few hours at least for a couple days and then gradually add more time. Some people are more cautious and some are more brazen so you need to find what you are comfortable with....
    DO you have any SPS?

    Happy lighting!

What are you mounting the light with? Do you have the hanging cables? If so you could also start the light higher than where it will end up and slowly lower it over the course of days or weeks depending on how things are looking.
Yes going from PCs to T5 IS a BIG jump so be careful of the LPS at first as well as the SPS you do have.
The stars will be fine, that is until they TAKE OVER your tank!!

    Anyone want mine?!?! ;)

    Happy lighting!
