I have had sand, 50% live and rocks 25% live in my tank for a week. It hasn't cycled yet, it is a 100g. At what point do I install the skimmer? I have heard immediately, and some say not until it has cycled. Opinions needed. Thanks :)

I would say not to run it. You want that crud in your water to help the cycle. The organics the skimmer removes, if left in feed the bacteria when they break down into ammonia.

Ok I take the opposite opinion. I would run the skimmer right away. I've always had great success with Lights on and Skimmer running during the cycle. It is my opinion that you are creating the same environment and allow everything to cycle in that environment. I have found that not running the Lights and skimmer can create long algae blooms once you begin running everything.
