    Hey guys and gals,

so I don't know how many of you who have seen my total loss thread.:(

But I've been deep into thought lately about starting up again, or just slowly getting all the stuff together to start maybe a year or so down the road. I know there's endless types of tanks, materials and what not out there.

But i'm just looking for a few pieces of advice as to where to start with what type of tank and brand to go with.

I'm thinking somewhere around 100 Gallons. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. so wherever i order it from needs to be able to ship or be close to here.

    ANY IDEAS PEOPLE? anything helps!!!!

Well, what are you looking for? A tank, but is there anything specific you would like? Or at least a starting point for us?

ummm something thats NOT tempered glass!!! already had my nightmare with that.
i want something that is deep (from front to back) so i have lots of room for the rockscape. my old tank was only 12" and didnt have much play room with it. i'm not sure if i want glass or acrylic.

Acrylic is normally almost triple the price of glass. Plus yes, it does scratch much easier. I too am starting a new tank and am going with an 85 gallon. It's 48" long, 18" wide and 22" tall. I wanted to make sure that I had a little bit of depth to play with, but didn't want it too tall so I wouldn't have to go crazy with lighting.

I'm going to be getting my tank from great lakes aquarium. They do ship, but the order must be at least $300. Here is their website: GreatLakesAquariums.com - Saltwater Custom Reef Aquariums

    Hope this helps!

i was thinking something along the lines of:

    either 36X24X30 or 48X24X24

more than likely the second one, a little shallower for lighting purposes.
