I've thought about getting some corals for this tank...but I think I might upgrade fairly soon, and with that tank I'll go all out. Big size, fancy lights, etc. So I think I might start my reef with that tank. I'm pretty excited! I thought I would be happy with fish only, but after doing this for a few months, and seeing all the beautiful reefs, I'm envious!

My royal gramma is my favorite fish. I was worried he'd hang out in the rocks all the time, but he's always out swimming. He only goes in the rocks at night. He's so fun to watch!

Not yet. I'll take some after the kitchen remodel. Things are too crazy right now!

But for an update: the cyano is much better than it was and there is practically no green algae on the glass anymore. Also, my coralline algae is starting to spread! There are little bits all over the base rock, and the live rock that didn't have any already. I'm so excited about that! Water parameters are all perfect (except nitrate, but it did drop to 10ppm! Yeas!).

My fish seem to be doing well and everybody (knock on wood) is still alive; all my hitch hikers and my small CUC. I've got lots of sponges that are thriving, so that's good. I plan on adding a CUC from Reefcleaners soon, as well as some mangroves. And I'm also hoping to get this cute little fish I fell in love with at my LFS. If I get him, I'll post some new pictures then!

Thanks for asking for an update! :)

Just start with one softy and see how you like it.. My 30 started with fish only and if you've seen my tank, you'll probably laugh at all the corals I got addicted to.. Now I have a 75 that I'm preparing to use as my new tank.. So with that said, I think you should try one easy soft coral and see where it goes!! ;D;D

Okay....you convinced me!! Haha that wasn't very hard, was it?! When it comes to buying things I'm easily persuaded! :) I'll try to get one in the next few weeks. If/when I do, I'll post about it and take pics, of course!

By the way, what's a good beginner's soft coral? I don't need too much detail, just some names and I can look them up online.

    Thanks!
