Don't worry it will... Take your time and ask lots of questions. Watch your ph level and salinity... Also watch your temp.....

yeah, being my first reef tank im gonna watch this thing like a hawk, I used to have a 75 gallon FW african cichlid tank, so Im used to the regular PH checks, so Ill test everything at the same time, and I had a 20 gallon saltwater fish only tank so im familiar with the salinity checks, I have a 75 watt heater in the tank, a 50watt is keeping my 10 gallon hex FW at a steady 79 degrees so I thing the 75 watt should hold it even closer...Ill let you know how its going once i get my stuff in there...oh and i havent gotten an answer pretaining to sand, is it worth the cash to buy live sand when i get my rock, if so then i will, the little extra money isnt a big deal, just need to know whats best to use...

got my sand and rock and everything in the tank today, temp is holding steady...the LFS had some nice live rock with tons of coraline algae on it, I have 3 nice porous pieces stacked well, may need one small piece as a stand alone for the one front corner, Ill get a picture tomorrow as a little of the dust from the sand is still settling, its clearing up really well though, the rock was about 6.50 per pound so I figured that was a fair price for the quality of it, they have a few large live rock tanks, and one for corals...the guy there was helpful too, knocked some money off the sand for me and stuff, the prices are already good, and he also picked a piece of live rock out of one of the tanks they have the fish for sale in cause it was a perfect size for a base in my nanocube, he wasnt shady and didnt try to talk me into alot of stuff I didnt need, so im glad I have a trustable store 20 minutes away, the guy I deal with maintains all there marine tanks in the store and has some nanos setup in there for display

You are doing great. On right track.

Go slow, be patient and all will come out well.

    Good Luck...

Thanks, so this tank should cycle itself now right? from what I have gathered reading on here the live rock/sand should be enough to cycle it, since some people say to cycle with a single fish or invert and some say without, I dont want to put anything in this tank till I know its correct though, the water is crystal clear now, so tomorrow I'll get a quick picture of it...thanks again...

I put live rock and live sand in my 12. I only waited a couple of weeks before I added my first clownfish. Thats just what I did. I had a problem wiith ph being to low at first. Probably from cycling. My first clown lasted about a year and a half in my tank before I took it down. Now she and her hubby are in my friends tank......lol

ok, I quess I'll keep an eye on it for a couple weeks and test it a couple times to see where it is, then figure out where to go with it. heres two pics I took, hows it look, you can see the pink algae on there which Im assuming is the good coraline algae
