    Well, looks like im building a stand tomorrow. Do you think a simple 2x4 frame will suffice or should i go more complex (aesthetics is not an issue)

    A 2x4 frame will be good I have seen stands built for 200 gallon tanks that were made from 2x4s If it is assembled correctly you will be fine.
