As soon as I sell the two tanks i have. I will be buying a new tank. My question is. 180 gal or 220 and why please. The reason i am leaning towards the 180 is the depth. 220 you are gonna get wet. Thanks in advance. ;D8);D

I would go for a 180. I am not a fan of having to reach down to the bottom of a 30" tank!

Considering I set up a new tank every time I move, I've had a lot of experience with different tank sizes and set ups. Here are my comments:

    - A 180 is a great sized tank. I've owned two and didn't regret having either one.

    - If you feel comfortable with a used tank, you can usually find a 180 on Craigs List if you are patient.

    - I have owned a 30" deep tank. Never again. Trying to clean the bottom few inches of the glass is very difficult... and I'm 6'2". Refrain from a tank higher than 24".

    - Seriously consider a 30" front-back tank. The extra 6" is great to have. I have two 30" wide tanks now and love them. I will only ever own less than 30" if the space I need to put it absolutely dictates it. It really looks so much better. Go 36" if you can :) But then that would be a 300g - still, I've seen one of these and it's amazing. The only bad thing about a 72" long x 30" wide x 24" deep is that you'd need to get it custom made and that would be fairly expensive by comparison.

My recommendation would be to either get a standard 180 if cost or space is an issue or get the 30" wide tank if you can afford it.
