    It's official.

So I bought the new 10k bulbs put them in and they are lit now. So this time it was the bulbs not the ballast.

I have the correct ballast coming from Current-Usa so when that comes I will have a good spare anyway.

So for now I wont run out and dump another 800 on a new light and flush more $$.
If the light would just keeep going , I do like it.

I hate when that kind of chit happens, makes you want to take that fixture and just toss it out the window. Glad you got it fixed. Luna

    OK, funny but not funny..
I now have two of the wrong ballasts sent from Current USA. Sure it was noce they sent them to me, but what to do with them.

Sure they said they would fire the bulbs, but one was no good as they sit on a sliding frame. So with two, sure I could at least get them mounted, but when they are half the size of the originals, I find that difficult to live with.

So my lights are still working today so thats good, but I would still like spare balasts, is that wrong given what I have been through?

    New additions

Well, Finally thought about adding some new life.
Went to LFS and got a Blue Tang, Psudo Chromis, a tree looking thing called a Leather, a Zenia thingy, and something called a lolipop something. I really should have wrote them down.

Anyway, they are all in QT right now.

Boy, those Hippo Tangs are skiddish, Everytime I go near it tries to hide under a rock..

    Anyway, thought I would share..

    Sump / Fuge Filter

    OK,
So this is my first Sump / Fuge setup.
So far I am happy withthe Bio Filter and the parameters of the water but I must say that I am not happy with the water clarity.

I just tries adding cheese cloth to the egg crate just before the return pump section and the water immediately dropped. But for the few minutes I had it in place, it already began collecting stuff.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can add some mechanical filtration to this setup ?

I am thinking of adding an external canister just to collect the debris.

    Just coulldn't wait

OK, so almost a week QT, thats good enough , right... I know I know, but boy is QT hard. You go buy something and you need to keep it caged out of the display for over a month.

Well, I did not make it. They do look happy though. Hopefully they will make it.

Wow the Coraline is taking hold real good.

Well done with sump ,, Lighting and getting her going.

Before you add the Hard corals .. make shure you have the Rocks where you want em. That tank has so much room .You could cover the whole base of overflow . Surround it like a Island going up about half way all the way around it. While then placing the Rest of LR towards the right hand side leaving space........ between Overflow and right side. this will make two seperate LR mounds and places for you fish to zoom about Once corals and stuff start to get bigger.

Here Kinda like this....;D look more fishes too ;D

I wish my tank was bigger to do Islands . It actually helps keep debre and the water flow more random in tank to.

Any how it looks good, i just thought i put in 2cents worth.
    Go slow and enjoy,,

    Note: to do list
Ha, sometimes break out the beer and just watch what crawls outa the rocks on the off days. You'd be suprized what you can notice when you sit back and just enjoy your work,,such a giving hobby.

Hey thanks, I do like that look and will likley build on the left one of these days. I dont think I will disrupt the right ride though.

Funny - When I added the Rock from my 50 it looked like the 110 was empty, then I bought some more and as I was building I was thinking it wasn't all going to fit. The way the rock lays, is kinda tilted front to back. I also didnt wan rock near glass on sides or front for cleaning.

If you look through the sides, the fish have the whole tank length to have fishy races, pleanty of open room. Right now, all of the fishies find a home in the rock to sleep. At least for now.

I have never had any type of coral so I dont know how they grow so I suspect many of these caves will disappear over time.

    Cheers
