Well if it is drawing the water from the sumop and adding to the sump, I think in either case its fine. Internal or external, the water is coming from the sump anyway.

I just wated to follow the book, I never had this type of setup before,,

    The good and the bad.

Well the light is finally in.
My new Nova Extereme 8x54 with lunars is looking good. I was scared at first, all the light looked white. But after booting it up the actinics turned blue, wheew.

So here is the light, good.

Bad news, but expected, i need to modify the canopy a bit.

The really bad news. OK, so I'm an idiot... I pushed the tank against the wall now the plugs for the light cant go behind and under the tank. Shrug.

I need to drain the tank and pull it oput or cut away a piece of the drywall. Right now I am leaning towards drywall.

    Lesson learned I guess.

    Almost there

OK, So old tank out, new tank in. Yup, I decided to cut a hole in the wall.
    Wife wasnt pleased..

The new light is bright as the sun. I couldn't even imagine MH or even any more watts. The new Lunar lights are wiked cool. Shimmering effect at night.

When I pulled out the rocks from the old tank, I found the pepermint shrimp I thought was dead months ago. Apparently he was living in the caves. I found a bunch of scary stuff under the rocks.

Not terribly happy with the rock work, but some day I hope it will be covered with coral so it wont matter. The fishies have plenty of places to explore.

Today I will take another look at the intake leak to see if it is a non issue for now or needs to be dealt with.

    Skimmer going at it.

I will also take a look at the canopy mods. I just need to cut off the center brace and move the supports down 1" so the canopy fits down below the plastic rim.

    The day after

Just some fishy pics after the move. Ah, the leak at the threads stopped after tightening just a bit. Whew. But now I can see some salt crusting from under the bottom seal of the intake bulkhead. Bummer. In the am I may silicone the bulkhead to see if that helps. I ordered a spare bulkhead and Megaflow kit JIC.

    Thanks
Well yes and no. The actual leak at the threads stopped but now I see some crusting between the glass and bulkhead. I suspect that is even a smaller leak. Not sure if it warrents fixing or not at this point. Other than that everything else is holding up nice. Not too bad for my first plumbing job and sump I guess.

I figured silicon would stop it, but I thought was easily removed with turning of the nut and may be a razor and some pressure.

I am trying to avoid having to replace the Dorso at this point but will if need be.

I will take a look in the am after my param check, and see whats what.

Oh and I am getting at least 20 minutes on the UPs for the skimmer, return pump and heaters. Lost power today.

    Pic Updates

So I added another 20lbs of LR today. I want to crawl up the overflow some more to hide it and create a more sloped look. Can't wait to start adding some coral to fancy up the rock some...

    Here are some pics..

Thanks, no. It is a battery backup. Runs the heaters and pumps during a power outage. Usually take me a few minutes to get the generator running when I'm home. I know these last at lease 30 minutes which is usually good enough.
