just set up my 125 gallon and had to go away for a short bit of time and have some questions

1 the tank is cycling and i have my lights running from 11am to 6pm is that good or bad? the lights are the current sunpod with 150MH and blue and white moon light and it stays very cool barely any heat exchange

2 should i have the moon lights running if so which is better blue or white and that question doubles for when i have corals

3 my PH was a bit low 8. 19 there is still nothing in the tank just a couple of damsels for cycling nitrites are 0 nitrates are 20 ammo is low 0.02

4 any thing else is there to know, should do to the tank for cycling i had a 55 along time ago with some crappy reults

sorry for the long post the setup is as follows 125 gallon tank dsb 150 lr 30 sump sea clone skimmer phosban reactor 250watt heater 10gallon fuge

just let it cycle. i'd kill the lights all together. lights are useless during cycling, unless you're trying to speed up your algae bloom.

    what's nitries at?

I agree, lights aren't necessary at this time, so don't worry about them

What's your Magnesium, Alkalinity, and Calcium at?

I wouldn't add any more Superbuffer without knowing those parameters.

8.2 isn't low. it's fine. you need to start testing for Alk/DKh, phosphates, calcium (if you plan on keeping corals).

if your Alk/DKh is good then i wouldn't worry about Ph.

during your cycle you're gonna see Ammonia then Nitrite then Nitrate. when you start seeing your Ammo and Nitrite drop to 0, then you've cycled, N03 might drop as well

Kill the lights as they are just a fuel for algae right now. Your pH is fine.
