    I have not posted in several months after I had my 36g bowfront stand collapse from a leaking skmmer....:cry: Just got a new 14g biocube cheap from the store. $100 ! Now I got it home and i want to make a list of things to get for it.. please feel free to give your input on the listed items or add or remove....

    a stand
    The biocube skimmer-
    20lbs live sand? which kind and how much should i use. White or Black :confused:

    base rock-
    live rock- rock quantities are going to depend no more 20 lb all together

    Shoud i cycle just with a little bit of live rock? damsel?

    sand it depends on what you like

    I would cycle the tank with all the rock that you are going to put in there

    I would recommend a steel reinforced stand and a leak proof skimmer !

    Live sand isn’t necessary, regular old sand will work fine. White/black – preference, I personally prefer white. Just toss in a piece of shrimp and use that for your cycle – no need to torment a damsel (trust me, I am no damsel fan either).

    For sand I would say sugar sized aragonite. A good thermometer, pH, alkalinity, calcium, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate test kits if you don't have them or they are over 2 years old. Maybe add a magnesium kit also. You could go with one piece of live rock if you like the looks otherwise base would be fine.

    okay so picked up some base rock today, to get an idea of the aquascaping i want. Also got 10lbs of Carib Sea ARAG-Alive (Bimini Pink) . Should i bother getting a piece of LR now?
