    Hi,
My name is Kristy and I'm from Australia.
My parents are moving interstate and have just given me their marine tank. They'd had a pair of clown fish in it for 3 years. Unfortunately the male went 'missing' yesterday and was nowhere to be seen when we dismantled the tank for the travel. The female went great on the travel and is now settling in to her new home after a 3 hour car trip. This is my first time owning marine fish and it's so exciting. :)

I do have a couple of newbie questions if anyone knows anything about keeping clown fish. Can I put anything else in there with her now she's by herself? At the moment there is just live rocks housing worms. Will she be ok by herself if I can't?

That's about it and I look forward to expanding my knowledge and meeting new people, while I have fun looking after my new girl who I've named Coral.

Welcome to 3reef! The clown will be fine on its own. You might consider that depending upon the type of clown, it might get a bit aggressive in its maturity, and might nip some docile fish. Maroon clowns and tomato clowns are particularly prone to such behavior.

Keep the questions coming, and again, Welcome!

welcome to 3reef. Do you know what size tank it is? Clown fish are born all males and one will become dominate over the other and change to female. Once changed they cant change back. If you could get one from a tank that had 20+ clowns in it, you might just pull a male. 2 females will fight to the death. Go to foster and smith they have a compatibility chart that will show what will go with clowns. Read up on the fish before buying.

Welcome to 3Reef and welcome to the hobby.

    Questions:

    - What type of clown fish (if you don't know, post a pic :))?

    - How big is the tank (if you don't know, post a pic :))?

    - What equipment do you have (if you don't know, post a pic :))?

In other words, post some pics ;D

    Thanks for the welcome <3

She's a common clownfish only about 2 inches big. The tank's about 10 galon, it's not huge, but in comparison to her it is quite big.

    I'll post some pics.
    This is the tank

Welcome to 3reef. Always love a girl from Australia ;). I like the tank, and the clown looks good. Shell be fine alone.
