The Sundial Lights came in yesterday! I still don't think I have an idea of how big this tank is going to be. Putting out a tape measure is one thing, but looking at the two boxes the lights came in gave it a little more dimension. I can't wait for the tank and stand/canopy to get here next week.

Are they the HQI pendants or the T5's?

T5's with 4X39 watt bulbs in each plus 4 moonlight leds per fixture. The leds are on a photo sensor and come on automatically when the T5s go off. Dual timers and vent fans for cooling. Got a great price on them online, over $100 less a piece than my lfs guy could get them for. The total for the two fixtures was just under $500. I felt guilty about not going through him, he has been such a help, but he actually told me to go for it and bring them to him and he would install them in my canopy before delivery. Now that's what I call service!

First.... "Honey, it will save us money in the long run in several ways... Larger tanks are more stable because of the larger water volume, thus fewer fish and corals will die saving us money. By starting large, it saves us money versus doing a small tank and then upgrading later and duplicating some expenses such as lights that won't fit the larger tank. Besides, honey, I really want you to enjoy this tank and many of the fish you like need a tank that is atleast 125 gallons. By doing the 150, we can do it right the first time saving us money and I can get the fish that I know you like. I am really doing this partly for you..."

    How was that????

    Second, welcome to 3reef.

Yes, I am. Jason is amazing. He will be my prime source for everything. It is so refreshing to get that level of customer service. I did quite a bit of shopping around, because that's what I do, but I kept going back to AD because I knew I would be taken care of there. I am in the planning stages of opening a new business in SA and i hope that my client base will think as highly of me when we get up and running.

My tank is here! Still waiting on the stand and canopy, but set up day is getting closer. Tank is gorgeous. Those megaflows are massive. I really like that they are not in the corners of the tank, as it will be placed where the side will be seen when coming into the house. All part of the expert advice I got from my LFS guy.

Woke up too early and had too much time on my hands, so now I have a UPS battery backup on the way. I had been worrying about loosing power and having all of my water syphon out of my tank and onto my living room floor. I know that wouldn't happen, but still there was this voice nagging away. I did some research this morning and found that I needed a true sine wave supply for most pumps and managed to find a good refurbished 1400VA unit that I plan to plug my sump pump and skimmer into. I don't plan on using it for the lighting or heater. We normally don't have anything but a brief outage. That should keep me more than covered.
