Magnesium. Make your own mixture- 3 parts Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulfate) and 5 parts Magnesium Chloride (good place to purchase this is BulkReefSupply.com). Without proper Mag levels you can not keep consistent Calcium or Alkalinity levels.

So u bought those two things and mixed them together?

Will the corals die if I wait to get more corals?
So I postpone the dosing will the corals I have now grow?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
For that size of coral all you need right now is routine water changes with a decent salt mix. And measure your parameters. As the corals begin to grow and the tank becomes more established in a couple months maybe, than think about dosing.

Phong, it's GREAT that you've taken the plunge!

I'm of the same mind as silor. But would like to ask just a few questions of you.

    • What type of salt are you currently using (regular or reef)?
    • How often do you change your water, and how much?
With your calcium, if you are unable to read your test, go hit up your LFS (most are pretty helpful) and be sure to take a sample of your water and your test kit (instructions too, if you still have them) and ask them to help you out. If you don't have a test kit, just grab a sample of your water and see if your LFS can test it for you, then pick up a test there and ask them how to use it. Usually the LFS folks, especially if they're a "Mom & Pop" shop are more than happy to help, they usually know that if you're happy you'll come on back next time you need something.

Hope you enjoy your new corals!

Move that birdsnest down a little and I swear by 10% water changes once a week plus it will save you a little money and you will see better growth
I really don't think you should have to dose anything there is
No real demand for it right now
6 to 8 weeks just do 10% water change and you'll be real
    Happy with everything

Edit - that was just give it 6 to 8 week just doing only water changes and see how happy you are then go from there

What brand of salt mix are you using?
