New to corals and need help...

    The JBJ comes with

    LED, they will be small round looking lights.

    PC (power compacts) they should appear as 2 long bulbs.

    Metal halide, which will be one bulb and very intense when you look at it.

    You can keep soft corals and lps under all those types of lighting.

    If still unsure post a picture of the hood showing the lighting.

    Well there is like two layers of long bulbs. The bottom layer which I can see has 8 bulbs. ANd they are very bright

    yeah that power compacts, you should be fine growing lps and all others but sps, and you may be able to grow a couple easier sps's when you get to that point if you want too..you may want to look into changing the bulbs around 6-8 months depending on how long you run them..do you know how old the bulbs are..

    No, the fixture will dictate what types of bulbs you have.

    You can get retro-fit kits and or a new hood, but you can not interchange the lighting types.

    google jbj light mods or something like that if you want to see what other people on other forums have done to make their lights better..

    I have the metal halide, same tank as you just different lighting.
