hey what are some good beginner corals!? i have a 40 gallon with coralife light fixture. and rocks at pretty much any level in the tank. i have a good current below my protein skimmer due to the water flowing out with all the bubbles. ( so current shouldnt be a problem!) and 1 other thing... coral prices in canada are high!

Does the skimmer send bubbles into the tank? You want to avoid that in a marine tank.

What else do you have for flow? Just a single skimmer is not nearly enough. You need to aim for about a 40X turnover rate, meaning the total GPH rates of everything added up should be 40 times the tank volume (in your case you want around 1600GPH of flow total in your system). A couple of Koralia 1's should at least get you started. I have 3 in my 40 along with the skimmer and a filter.
Reply with exactly what lights you have and the exact flow situation, and we will be able to give you good suggestions.

Try a green star Polyp. I put that coral through all kinds of hell and it still grows like crazy.
