    Here's another update ...

It's been a couple days now. And I'm very happy.

This thing is quiet as a mouse. No hissing or other sounds at all.

I got a Mag Drive 500 pump for it. Which is nice cause I can easily find a new pump if this one over wears out.

The skimmer is easy to empty, just a half twist on the receiver and take it to the sink.

It's been like a freight train, took about 24 hours to get up to speed -- to break in and start foaming -- but once it got going, look out! I emptied a reciever full of waste after only an hour.

I've been curing my live rock in the aquarium. With this load, the skimmer's receiver fills up to the vent tube about every 3 or 4 hours. It is full of the nastiest foul smelling slime you've ever seen. Makes me gag pouring it out into the sink! The aquarium looks good and smells good -- never knew there could be so much crud in the water.

I remember when I got into this hobby about 15 years ago. Used to build lots of stuff myself. No more. Things have really progressed to a higher level.

This skimmer is nicely enginnered and it rocks!
