Anyway been pretty busy and did not have time to upload some pic....

I bought 2 Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish last week and added a Scissortail Dartfish and purple firefish today. I will have a puffer coming in and some crabs and snails tomorrow that i ordered online.

is normal for the dartfish and firefish hiding? the dartfish actually came out for like 20 mins then is gone.

I'm not one to judge, but that seems like a lot of fish for a 29 gallon and just being set up. Make sure to keep an eye on your Ammonia and Nitrite levels as your tank cycles. Also try and use RO/DI water. I made the mistake of starting out with tap water, and now I have diatoms everywhere and I am fighting green bubble algae. Remember that patients will be very rewarding in this hobby.

Good Luck to you and welcome.

Thx for the advice, i actually buy my RO/DI pre mix water for my LFS. What happens if there is no ammonia and no nitrite...but my nirate is like 20 ppm and i just did 5 gallon change like 1 day ago.

I really would suggest you slow down on the livestock. Even with live rock there is still good potential for the water and tank to cycle & produce chemical levels unfriendly for livestock. Its a shame for the wallet and especially the livestock should things go south on you.

You cant set up a tank & with success have livestock in it with short cycles and minmal impacts but that is generally done by expereinced people.

In your other thread you asked what the scissortail was after you bought it. Another potential trouble event. Dont take your LFS advice ever when it comes to livestock, do your research & dont impulse buy. You run the hazard of getting incompatable livestock and or livestock you cannot support & keep alive.

I dont mean to sound like big brother but I would rather see someone be successful for themselves and thier tanks sake.

You actually want your ammonia and nitrites to be 0, but you also want your nitrates to be almost 0 as well. Try reading more about the nitrogen cycle and you will understand more why this is. You want your nitrates to be 0 as well because that is what algae feeds off of. You also want to keep an eye on your phosphate levels as well.

And always remember that most LFS are out to just make money and will sometimes sell you livestock that isn't compatible with other members of your tank.

Be careful with the puffer. I've never owned one, and dont know much about them, but I do know they can release a toxin into the water. Someone here who knows more about them can chime in.

Also as has already been mentioned, that is a FULL stocking list for a 29 gallon. The stocking ratios for saltwater are alot lower than freshwater meaning you get less fish in the same size tank.
