Use a diamond wheel cutting blade on a dremel and cut the skeleton as far away from the polyp as you can get.

They are actually fairly easy to frag. As inwall said, use a cutting blade and it will cut right through the skeleton.

My LFS fragged my frogspawn by just grabbing it and breaking off a shoot of the skeleton from the main shaft. It is in my tank and doing well

The only part of a coral that is alive is the colored part, or fleshy part. As long as you cut through the calcified skeleton, you're cutting through dead matter. So yes, you can use a Dremel on frogspawn, or any other coral that has branches without touching the live portion. HTH.
