I recently got back into the saltwater hobby and I have been doing a lot of reading on the boards. I am new to the reef tanks so I hope I am doing things right.

I have a couple of things on some live rock that I don't know what it is (if anything).

Anyone know what the greenish white stuff is on bottom of the rock in the first picture is?

Also what is the red and white clam looking thing in the second picture?

    Thanks for any feedback.

    Welcome to 3reef!

I only see one picture and it appears that you have a mix of red and green algaes. There is either a Red Leg or Scarlet Hermit crab underneath the white rock.

    Hope that helps.

First pic looks like a sponge. Can't tell what I'm supposed to be looking at in the 2nd pic?

Those look to be one of many filter feeding tunicates or sponges. They are cleaners of the water column and good tank inhabitants.

First pic is definintely a sponge, filter feeder like Craig indicated. I still can't tell what's in the 2nd pic. Could you get a close up of the critter?
