    Welcome aboard!! A 900 GPH return is by no way too much. If you feel you'd like to have less flow, get a gate valve on the return and dial it back a bit. In this hobby, as long as waves aren't breaking on your carpet and your live rock ain't tumbling--there is no such thing as "too much flow."
