cool, i found a couple good sites with what looks to be reasonable prices, should i start out with just one? Ive been reading on here several setups have multiple heads, but their tanks are packed with rock and coral.

before just buying a powerhead. plan out how you want to move wwater around. you need a way to keep the surface of the water moving. powerheads directed to the surface is a good way to do this. the idea is not to leave an area of the tank stagnant. you may need several powerheads depending on the size of tank. water movement is crucial in preventing algae growth especially the slimy red stuff.

    good luck

right now, just a 28g bow front. im quickly discovering this to be a "crack" like adicting hobby and IF i can master the 28g, thinking of moving up to something around 55g.

yeah once you start to get it. you will wish you went bigger. the problem with a smaller tank is the maintenance. think of it like this. one drop of lemon into a shot glass and you can taste a hint. but one drop in a tall glass and you want know anything was there. same concept while trying to maintain proper water parameters. bigger the tank easier the water quality maintenance.

for my biocube, i have 2 koralias. a koralia1 and a koralia nano.plus the return pump. the return pump has a two way deflector pipe to direct water to the surface at two seperat locations. while the koralias are positioned with on low in the tank pointed upwards and the other high on the glass pointed downward. againd no dead spaces in water.

if you are not sure where dead spaces are. watch the food when you feed, how fast it travels and where it slows or sinks.

i see this is PART 2. how long has your tank been up and cycling.
