    updated pics below. this hobby is pricier than my motorcycles. I lost a Flamehawk to the reef octopus skimmer last night. I wish the instructions were better but people here helped me out tremendously. I shortened the vacuum tube and raised the intake box so I hope this doesn't happen again.

    Tank looks great. Sorry to hear about the Flamehawk.

    If you haven't seen it yet here is a thread about the Reef Octopus BH-1000 skimmer. There are a couple mods in there that may be useful.

    yeah, saw the thread and starting cutting. Ridiculous to pay that much money and have such poor design IMO, don't get me started on the instructions. Oh, another flamehawk joined the birds nest today.
