Hello my friends, I just started this sw tank a week ago and two damsels added yesterday hopefully they will do good. Currently working on the overflow pvc pipe and a 10gal sump. Suggestions and comments are welcomed.

Did you cycle before you added the damsels?

That's the same skimmer I have, I had to make some adjustments to mine to get it to work properly x)

Since he started the tank 1 week ago I doubt that it's cycled. More likely using the Damsels to cycle. Correct?

What size is your display tank? Do you have plans on adding a power head or 2 for flow? Is this to be a *fish only with live rock* (fowlr) tank? Hahaha, guess I got more questions then suggestions atm :)

Those two damsels were added to help running the cycle.8)

Do you mean the oceanic or the coralife 65? the oceanic skimmer is either too much or too less bubbles :-/ gotta look for sample videos on youtube.

    Use biospira.

the hangon hydrometer isnt usually accurate, or very long anyways.

The display tank is 20g and I bought the aqueon 700 power head for flow. I don't wanna put too much stuffs into the tank before it's cycled. Cycle is the first priority for a new tank, right?

You mean this one? I put this into the tank already and do you know how long does it take for the cycle to be finished so that I can add a bit more fish?

I got a second hydrometer (instant ocean brand) too and both readings are 1.023, is that usual?

IME they can be accurate however usually will loose accuracy over time. Its great you already added it. Test water levels everyday until you get ideal results across the tests for 3 or more days in a row.

What fish are you looking to add?

Also, my tank cycled in one week using biospira and 12 damsels, none died, none were aggressive towards each other, and showed no signs of stress. The levels from day 2 were ideal. That fast. Love Biospira and it truly works, ive started a 150 with it too.
