    Agree, that's a result of the sand.

    I'd move this guy up to a perminant spot and attach (glue) it to your rockwork; a bit more flow than what it has now won't hurt either.

    Alk/Ca are a touch high for my liking, but that's a perfectly acceptable spot to maintain them. Besides that; fine.

    I try to hold ~9.5 and 425-450. It just leaves a little room if things happen to go one way or the other.

    I'd cut off the white parts it will keep spreading and slowly die. Had that happen to my birds nest but I saved it.
