    Hello everyone, I am new to 3reef but not so much new to the hobby. I am located in Gulfport, MS but new to the general area as I just recently transferred from California to MS. So, a quick intro...I am in the military and have been keeping reef tanks for about 8 years or so, after my neighbor gave my wife and I a tank when he moved. I got hooked and haven't looked back yet with the hobby...I have had tanks ranging in size from 29 gal biocube to 150 gal custom made hex tank. Unfortunately when I transferred to the gulf coast I had to sell all my stuff off and am now starting over with trying to get a 90 gal up and going for the wife and planning a big tank for myself (at least 240 gal). I love helping out newbies and love getting help from some of the "old heads" that have been doing this for far longer than me. After reading through some of the posts here I can see that everyone seems really cool.

    welcome and thanks

    I am also new to 3reef as well as new to salt aquariums. Any help you can offer would be great. I am getting a 54gal bow front used for a steal, but I dont have any equipment. I want to do a mini-reef with a DSB and plenty of inverts. Any suggestions on which equipment I need and what I can do without?

    I was stationed in Port Hueneme for a while and San Diego for a few years as well, all together I've spent the past 11 yrs in Cali. Decided to move to the gulf coast cause its closer to home for me.
