    Hey everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself and also ask a quick question.

I'm planning to start a 90 gallon reef tank. It will have around a six" sand bed to house some jawfish. Question is, I have a lighting system that I used for my 55 gallon that I had to tear down.

It has two 175 watt MH and 4 65 watt compact floresent.
Is this enough light for a 90 gallon?

    Thanks in advance

What are the dimensions on the tank?

Well I haven't purchased the tank yet, but most dimensions that I have seen for a 90 gallon are 48x18x25

That should be enough. As long as you dont have two cross braces on the tank.

    welcome to 3 reef speed

if the tank has 1 single centre brace you will be OK

if it has 2 , they will be right under where your lights are, the heat could warp the braces and this could result in a bowed tank ( OK if its a bow front you purchased , but very scary if it is supposed to be a rectangle)

    Thanks for the feedback

The cross base is something I did not consider.
I have not purchased the tank yet, but now that will be something I will pay special attention to.

    Thanks again;D
