    Calcium reactors use CO2 to break down the aragonite media in them and administer calcium from that reaction to the aquarium.

    Kalk reactors mix pure water and Kalk mix and administer that in the form of calcium to the aquarium. I believe if you are using CO2 with a kalk reactor, it would just be in the event that pH goes to high, then the CO2 is administered to the tank to bring it down to normal.

    I believe I got that fairly accurate....please correct me if not... ;D

    The reason for the CO2 is in order for the agaronite to break down the water must be acidic. CO2 cause the waters ph to drop to acidic levels. All calcium reactors need CO2 to function.
