    There was an auction on Friday and we snagged a 5' protein skimmer for... Actually, I'll let your guess until I get home. I'll post a photo of the new toy when I get home from work as well. We are going to have a blast hooking it up to the store's coral tank.

    I snagged an etss skimmer for $5.

    Big skimmer! Downdraft skimmers actually work really well, they just aren't the "in" thing anymore because they require such a monster pump.

    five......five dollar....five dollar skimmahhhhh...thats a power skimmer for sure..it might require a bigger pump to run but it will also skim alot faster and way more water then any nw can ever do!....sweet deal!!

    Correct me if I'm wrong. To my understanding, a skimmer of the "newer design" which is rated to a 1500g tank would require just about the same amount of electricity as this guy would. I am guessing any difference would be negligible.
