thats what i thought, and looks like the sump has to much water in it, not good if the tank shuts off and overfills the sump? but like you said if it works for him?

I know the water in this is too high but because my skimmer is broken, so now that's the level of water required to keep the pump for the skimmer submerged. I'll look into that filter and see what I can do.
    cheers

I don't mean to change the subject of this post but...

So then what's the point of the bioballs if they're just floating in the water?

Have you shut the pumps off to see if it will overflow?

Is that the recommended water level for the skimmer?

I don't even see any pumps in the sump, if there are, are they really THAT big to require that much water to keep them submerged? I'm confused.

I see you point with the bio balls. Yes I have tried to see if it will overflow if the system shuts off and it doesn't.
With regards to the skimmer, When I brought it into the country, the stupid customs officers prob thought it was a bong or something and they pulled it apart and so doing, they broke the tube that connects the pump to the skimmer therefore, I had to create my own connection. Also the sump is quite small so, the two pumps as well as the skimmer can't all fit at the bottom of the sump. So the pump is kind of in mid water. I'll try to see what I can do now because I'm getting the fish tonight. thanks

You can get a 30gal aquarium to use for a sump instead, then you can make a fuge with it too, and everything will fit in it.

    I have a 24*12*12 and a 36*12*12
These tanks are going to be turned into sumps. It's a painstaking process as a student with a girlfriend and a car loan lol.
Slowly But Surely I'll be able to finish all of my tanks.
However, is this water level now fine for now?

Yea that looks like it makes more sense. Keep in mind that bio balls are nitrate factories so the sooner the refugium the better!
