    Hello,
I am a fairly new reef owner; started 6 months ago, but moved, so I have to start again, and my tank is about 6 weeks old. Everything was going well until I did a water change mid-week, then my coral began to show signs of stress and two fish died (one was having trouble anyway). The one that was doing well that died I found on the intake of my power compact....could he have gotten trapped inadvertently?

    I have a 55 Gallon tank with a light that has 4 65W PC and 2 250W Metal Halides.

My PH is really high 8.8, all other tests were great. During my water change, I put a bit too much salt in, and is running around 1.016 right now. My temperature is running between 75 and 80.

The salinity you are running is not to high. I would raise it more. What are all your other parameters. Do you have a open top system or have covers on it.

Do you mean 1.026? If so, that's fine.
