2 days ago I bought a Yellow watchman goby. When I introduced him to the tank my Powder brown tang started bullying him and picking at him. I left the light off for a day and he was left alone then turned them on again and by the end of that day I found him sucked to the overflow intake. He was exhausted and never tried to find a hole to protect himself. I have him in a clear floating separator right now resting ok. I think he is perking up a bit what should I do with him now?

I actually just got a watchman goby 2 days ago as well! ;)

Questions I'd ask: Does the goby have enough hiding spots the tang can't get to? Is your substrate sutible for a watchman to burrow in? Is your tang adequetey fed?

If all are good, try sectioning off a section of the tank with eggcrate, or, place the tang in one of those plastic kitchen strainers that will float. Seperation for a few days while the watchman can get situated is good. Cage the tang, not the goby... bully must be punished, lol!

My goby needed a few days to build spots. I have fine white sand. He did fine with the two tangs I had but I added the tangs months after the goby.

I am not sure what I can do with the tang to keep him away, the divider I have is too small for him. The sand is pretty fine white sand he just never got low enough to try finding a nice spot. I could try a small rearrangement of the rocks and put him back in a night. Any other ideas? Maybe I coudl sink the divider with him under it but over a rock.
