    Hey all !

Getting my new set up tommorow and it includes a 30 gallon sump with 4 partitions one in center is going to be my refuge, but I am lost as to where I can get spores or macroalgae plants to add to my sand and rock in the fuge.

Can anyone point me in the right direction and to what the best type is for a new not cycled tank to start.

    Thanks in advance,
    razorack--

I would check out the macros at reefcleaners.org. However, you won't really need any until after your tank is cycled and stocked. The macros will need nutrients to grow. I believe macros can even give you false readings during your cycle by using the ammonia up before you can detect it.

When you do buy macros, I would stick with one. Macroalgaes do a sort of chemical warfare simliar to corals. Chaetomorpha is my perosonal fuge favorite.

If you're looking for some ask your lfs, mine gives it to me for free if I ask, but I agree with sessionthree, you should wait until it's cycled.

Thanks for the answers so far. Do you guys recomend I use Live Sand and Live Rock in my refuge or this new Miricle Mud?

Dont have much experience in either.

    Thanks,
