    Hiya.

We have a 29 gallon tank (I guess it was born December 2008 ). Just started into the hobby again (after a few months of glorious fishless purchases, ha).

Have a thumbnail sized cowfish (doesn't even have horns yet!!), 2 clownfish, a coral banded shrimp, loads of snails, and hermit crabs.

Just bought 9 frags, various soft and hard corals. H just got T5's for his birthday (they are sweet), and they seem to be doing well (both the corals and t5s, ha).

We will be getting a 250 gallon tank within the year (hopefully half year) I know we need it quickly for the cowfish. But as of now he is super small.

Anywho, joined to learn more about the hobby/craft.

    Welcome to 3reef.

Cowfish are a danger to a community tank because they secrete poisons when upset. Make sure you are using carbon and change it often should the clowns decide to pick on the cowfish.

H also got a phosphate/carbon reactor for his birthday too, thanks for the tip.

This isn't the first cowfish we have owned, our first lasted 6 months but was wiped out with the rest of our little guys after we bought a fish with some kind of disease.

Whoa cowfish? Interesting... and yes i agree with 2in10 you dont want the cowfish poisoning everything in the tank. Is it true they can get bigger then a foot?

TSWG, I think 18 inches in captivity and 2 ft in the wild? My numbers may be skewed.

Well that definitely sucks, sorry to hear. Hope I didn't come across as fish police.
